From September 26 to 30, the Center for Democracy in the Americas led an exploratory trip for members of the American Public Transportation Association to Cuba to understand the general political, economic, and social climate in Cuba, with a specific focus on public transportation. The delegation, led by APTA Executive Committee Vice Chair Valarie McCall, visited key public transportation sites, including the Omnibus Terminal of Havana, “La Lanchita de Regla” ferry terminal, and “El Paradero,” a multimodal transportation terminal in the Playa municipality.
